J. Haydn - Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major

Håkan Hardenberger

I find it difficult to find what to write about Hardenberger. In general - I just love everything he does. One of my first CDs of trumpet music was his double CD with many baroque and classical concertos. I can say that when I need to learn a new piece or I want to hear a good version of a piece - many times I'll choose Hardenberger as a "right and correct" performance. He plays so well and his sound is so amazing that it is always inspiring and a good lesson to listen to his recordings. I attached two CDs here. One is a classic one with classic trumpet concertos we all know very well. I love his versions of those classics and I think they are very good examples of how to play them. The other CD is a big collection of 5 CDs with many different kind of pieces from the Baroque era to 21st Century and from classical concertos to virtuoso cornet playing. Great source of great playing!
