Niklas Eklund

So, my first recommendation is for the Baroque trumpet player Niklas Eklund. Maybe not the most obvious choice for the first recommendation but honestly he is one of my favorites. A master of what he is doing. I’ve never heard such a pure, clean and beautiful sound on the Baroque trumpet. His collections of CDs - The Art of the Baroque Trumpet is full of beautiful music and playing. I love his sound and musicality and you can really feel how he sings through the trumpet. I always have the feeling like he knows exactly where every note is going to in every single moment. Perfect phrasing. All of those incredible things are the result of perfect control in mastering trumpet playing. Very inspiring, very fun to listen and some touching moments. I can highly recommend his first CD from his 5 CD collection and the third one with soprano Susanne Rydén - Virtuoso Music for Soprano and Trumpet.
